1) The first step to becoming a lawyer is completing your high school degree. It is recommend to do so with a high average, and to possibly to take some law courses ( not necessary). 2) Completing an undergrad is the next step. You can ultimately complete an undergrad in anything. Many complete a degree in political sciences or criminology but it is not necessary. 3) Write the LSAT ( Law School Admission Test) to get into law school. 4) Once you make it into law school, there are 16 within Canada you can chose from. From there on you spend 3 years in law school. 5)During your 3 years you must complete your articulating which is working under the supervision of a qualified lawyer for 10 months. 6) When done your 3 years, every lawyer must pass the bar exam. 7) Once you pass the bar, this is the critical point where every lawyer decides what type of lawyer they'd want to be, and where many would chose to be a corporate lawyer.
